Our work is focused on three themes which we consider to include the most pressing issues of the 21st century: challenges which affect us today on every continent and have the potential to shape the future of humanity, developments that are specifically relevant to the future of Britain, and many obstacles that are yet to be experienced – but in pursuit of a peaceful and secure century for all, the work of anticipating challenges and exploring solutions is paramount.
BRITAIN IN THE 21st CENTURY
Radical technological innovations and the fourth industrial revolution will fundamentally change the nature of life, work, healthcare, and citizenship in Britain in the 21st century. Conducting research and anticipating the extent of these changes allows us to assess the potential issues ahead – and provide the policy recommendations necessary to avert them.
FUTURE OF OUR CLIMATE
Man-made climate change has become the most pressing global issue of the 21st century, a crisis which our generation must overcome if we are to survive and thrive into the 22nd. Research into the full extent of the challenge ahead allows us to present the bold and innovative political solutions required, and equip our generation with the means to combat climate change.
A NEW GLOBAL ORDER
The obstacles of the 21st century will irreversibly change the nature of states and international relations – anticipating and adapting to these changes will be one of our generation’s greatest tasks. Studying this process enables us to prepare for these transformations and offer forward-thinking solutions, in order to mitigate potential upheavals and shape the direction of travel.
